IBM THINK Exhibit: Carl DeTorres
Carl DeTorres, famed graphic designer based in Oakland, California, created this set of posters for IBM’s Think exhibit in New York. Individually the posters highlight five key principles to making the world work better: Seeing, Mapping, Understanding, Believing and Acting. Together the posters form one giant poster that communicates the overall idea of progress.
Mini Ads for Minibreaks with Big Results
In an age of gross maximalism, advertising agency DLKW Lowe reminds us that less really is more. To advertise Legoland Minibreaks, its resort packages, new hotel and that kids get in free, the agency installed tiny Lego billboards throughout London, shared a Google map with their locations and invited people to tweet a photo of them with a #legolandminibreaks when discovered. A+ for a creative and cost effective campaign utilizing social media to do all the hard work.
Instagram Obsessions

It didn’t take long for me to become completely obsessed with Instagram the very moment I uploaded my first photo. If you haven’t used it yet, think of it as Flickr meets Twitter. They’ve reinvented how we share photos with our family and friends, making it easy to upload to Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.

Presenting work by Marlborough artists Thierry W Despont, Manolo Valdés and the late Claudio Bravo, as well as rare antique furniture from the Steinitz Collection.” – via the Marlborough Gallery

Mad Men Season 5 Poster
It’s nice to see a poster that directly relates to the narrative content of the show instead of just a glamor shot of the cast with some obscure concept supplied by the photographer.
Apartamento
The masthead on every issue of Apartamento reads ‘an everyday interiors magazine’, after reading it from cover to cover, one discovers that it is exactly that.
News Flash: The Topic of Sports Doesn’t Have to Smell of Sweat and Beer
Finally something for the sports intellectual in your family. Time.com, Time magazine’s companion website, kicks off March Madness with its first sports blog, Keeping Score. Unlike other online sports destinations and in true Time style, Keeping Score won’t smell of buffalo wings and beer or yell at the TV unexpectedly, rather Keeping Score will highlight sports around the world, their cultural, economic and political impact. With any luck, this fresh approach to the discussion of sports could actually win over a few new fans and expand the scope of the topic beyond scores and who fumbled what.
Check out Keeping Score here.
